ASP - Zaubererbruder (Re-Release)

ASP – Zaubererbruder
– Der Krabat-Liederzyklus

FOR THE OCCASION OF ITS TENTH ANNIVERSARY: THIS CULT ALBUM NOW AVAILABLE IN A JEWEL CASE EDITION AT A SPECIAL LOW PRICE!

ORIGINAL ALBUM INFO TEXT FROM 2008:

"Krabat“ -- those who know Ottfried Preußler’s novel about black magic fighting innocent love will shiver with comfort: The author once called “Krabat“ the story of a generation and thus stresses the ongoing relevance of its topic- namely the seduction of young people by a corrupt system.

"Krabat“ is obviously more than alive: there is a new movie coming out in October 2008 and ASP, the masters of dark rock will re-enter the stages and present "Zauberbruder – Der Krabat-Liederzyklus". This album is inspired by the very Sorbian legend which gained fame worldwide due to Preußen’s novel and has shed light on new and exciting aspects.

"Zauberbruder“ is a sign for the fans that they can look forward to the sequel of ASP’s success story. "Requiembryo“ – the title of the last album has already foreshadowed this. Death (Requiem) is succeeded by new life (Embryo). "Zauberbruder“, however, is more than a bridge to the next narrative concept. Everything that has made the band distinctive within the last few years is summed up on this one album. ASPs unmistakable Gothic-Novel-Rock is once again arranged as a total work of art: music, lyrics and images seem to enjoy equal rights. Concerning their lyrics ASP have long proved to be the "crème de la crème" of the German-speaking music scene and also convince with skilled precision and an extensive narrative power.

The booklet contains breath-taking artworks by Meran who is renowned for working with SIX FEET UNDER, LEAVES' EYES and LACRIMAS PROFUNDERE. In his bleak monochrome arrangements he confronts the frightening metaphors of Edgar Allen Poe’s gothic fiction with the oppressive beauty of shadow plays in expressionist silent movie classics.

Furthermore they have extended their musical range according to the subject: alongside traditional gothic rock you will also find medieval elements and folky and atmospheric passages which lead the way to an unforgettable journey to the world of "Krabat“.

"Zauberbruder – Der Krabat-Liederzyklus“ is a fascinating expedition to the borders of a darksome world and a revelation for aficionados of thrilling German rock music!
